Marshall W. Thomas, Ed.D.
Dr. Marshall W. Thomas is the Director of Veterans Affairs at the California State University Office of the Chancellor. In that role, he provides support and advocacy for military-affiliated students (veterans, service members, and dependents) and the people who serve them in the CSU.
As an advocate for veterans in higher education, Marshall speaks frequently at colleges and universities about military culture and the impacts of military service on student-veterans.
In 2009, he developed the VET NET Ally program to educate college and university faculty, staff, and administrators about student veterans. The four-hour seminar, which he's presented at 60 colleges and universities, is designed to create welcoming campus environments and visible networks of allies to student veterans.
Marshall served six years in the United States Marine Corps.
